OSNews has a pretty good review of the installation and stuff included with the new UnitedLinux. The reviewer is a "linux installation developer" in "real life" and covers the installer aspects very well.
UnitedLinux is a "server centric" distro that does not aim to come with all sorts of multimedia stuff and apparently by design comes with no services running (other than ssh and xdm), HOORAY!!! It does however appear to come with a bunch of network apps such as apache, samba, etc. (Which arent very useful in my opinion, but all distros do that, what I mean is I dont want the apps in the distro usually. I know you can pick them at install with most installers but usually dependencies mean you have to take a bunch of crap you dont need. I want to compile and setup the apps myself. Does anybody really use the apache binary that comes with the distro, especially in a "server" oriented distro?)
The article is brief and doesnt really get under the UnitedLinux hood but does include general stuff and screenshots. Check the link --->. (SCO) UnitedLinux Beta Review: OSNews
