Very concise and favorable article for Linux reliability at developerWorks. The authors tested the Linux kernel in a myriad of ways (which are explained within the article) and the conclusion was : "The tests demonstrate that the Linux system is reliable and stable over long durations and can provide a robust, enterprise-level environment".
