Trexy is an interesting concept in web searching. Basically a search "trail" is the "path you leave behind" while searching using conventional web search engines. Trexy is a sort of social search path networking site that enables you to store and share such search "Trails".
The creators of the site have put quite a bit of effort into the concept treating the entire "trails" approach in an academic fashion. The site is clean and fast, overall quite nice.
I am not sure though, to be perfectly honest, that I personally find the "trails" concept very useful. The site has does have a top 10 reasons to use Trexy list but I do not find many of those things compelling (though I admit I may do things a bit differently than a mainstream web searcher - I use an online bookmarks manager with a simple "tag" for remembering the end result of a search, if I think it is important, and I am just not really interested in the "trail" - even less interested in other people's "trails"). I do appreciate the concept of learning to search better and finding out about new engines by using the trails, but "never search for the same thing twice" and "be guided by other searches" (2 of the top 3 reasons, the other being use existing search engines) do not matter to me personally.
Even with my own reservations I admit that Trexy seems like a good overall concept to centralize (and store remotely) search history (and potentially it could get even bigger by storing general browsing history). This is the next logical step to centralized and shared bookmarks and such. Privacy is protected, so that is not an issue (and remember it is not compulsory people). For people that use search history and are interested in "social" type networks it is definitely worth a look.
