On Yahoo, General Motors and Porn

There has been a bit of buzz today about
Yahoo!'s decision to get into the porn retail biz.
I'm sorry, but you people need to calm the f#$%
down.
Yahoo! is about the only large scale media
company in the world that is not already in the
porn business in one way or another -- see the GM
link for info about GM and ATTs pr0n biz. In the
LA Times article, some schmoe from Blockbuster
talks all high and mighty about how they dont
wanna be in that business. Sure, Blockbuster
doesn't, but how much money do you think Viacom
makes off of Pay Per View porn. Every major media
company from AOL-TW to Sony has at least ONE
outlet for porn, the only difference with Yahoo!
is they are not trying to mask it with some other
"brand" to cover who is actually dealing the
stuff.
Secondly, would you rather porn be sold by a
bunch of companies like the ones we have that are
CONSTANTLY getting sued for fraud ( see AMEX link
) and with iffy age verification/child protection,
or someone high profile and responsible, like
Yahoo!.
