iPod touch is cool and all, though it needs a Mail application and a much larger harddrive and then I think it will be perfect. I do like the $200 price drop on the iPhone ... never should buy on first release of any apple product.
Well ... I think you should go for it if you are interested. I think I would be buy that or the Classic, though it would be at least 1 or 2 more releases before I would get the touch. I think the Fat is pretty cool and the Classic is a nice deal with that drive. Would have been cool if they did the fat one with a larger drive and just made it thicker.
Once I got the Apple store to work (kept crashing Firefox, on multiple machines, even different OSes), I eventually bought a Fat and 2 refurb shuffles (for the kids). I am still using an old school first gen shuffle after all these years (USB type), and though I like it (great battery life, ultra convenient not even a cord), I do want to add some videos - hence the fat.
Yeah, I really would have expected the "Touch" to be a little bigger than the iPhone, with a 160g HD instead of flash, and a bigger battery to go with it.
I can live without a mail client, but 16gb just don't cut it for me now that I have gotten used to the 5G.
