February 1 2008: the official end of the Netscape era

End of Support for Netscape web browsers

Sure, you haven't used it for 5 years or more, but Netscape is in your roots - hell it's in the web's roots. It was a sad day when they released Netscape 6 (when Mozilla was at Milestone 18, if I recall, read: too damn early), but it will be a sadder day still when it is officially no more. Sad, but appropriate and completely understood (in fact, it's a few years too late). I actually still own an in the box, shrink wrapped copy of 2.0.1, with the familiar helm wheel on the cover (the below photo is not of my copy, but it's the same basic setup).
