Well, lets look at portal.

Well, lets look at portal. That is, aside from being from Valve, an indy game. There is what 90 minutes of play there? WoW is, and I said this earlier, derivative but well produced. It is the prime example of big-budget gaming. My point is that the Open Source games are now way better than the pay-for games of license. The Star Wars BF1942 mod was as good or better than most licensed SW games. BTRL is better than the "Real" BSG game.

I think it is particularly fascinating when Fan-Based content is better than Vivendi/Universal or LucasArts can put out on their own.
