If you are at all interested in dynamic, database driven web development then you should check out ZOPE. I personally have never used Zope but it sounds like a very capable and well designed tool that may greatly enhance the "free" and "Open Source" web development market. Zope is different from flat file implementations such as PHP or ASP (although you can create objects with these products, it is a different approach.) Zope is completely open source and is written in Python (the best scripting language in my opinion, far cleaner than Perl.) Zope allows relational database connectivity and was recently selected by Sybase as a development platform. Zope runs on many popular web platforms including Apache (again the best.) It allows developers and "content creators" to collaborate on projects.Again, I have not tried this product, but with all of this potential and all of the right pieces seemingly in place, I will definitely be checking it out in the near future. When you can run a free and open source OS combined with a great webserver, web development platform, scripting language, security tools, management tools and more, then you gotta think "thanks" once in awhile.
