MoneyDance: The Linux Financial App

MoneyDance is the financial app for Linux. Actually it is Java based (so yeah, it will run on your toaster too) but runs great on the standard JVM under all flavors of Linux (one minor mod for SuSE, see the support page.) MoneyDance is an account manager for all kinds of accounts (Checking, Savings, MoneyMarket, Stocks, Funds, etc.) MoneyDance is actually "shareware" for Linux and costs $25 if you like it, although its not open source, it sure is priced better than other commercial flavors of financial managers. MoneyDance does all the financial work, it IS a replacement for Quicken or MS Money and it actually CAN import the data from either (QIF files.) I tried it because my Quicken was ancient (and my MS Money trial expired) and I wasnt ready to cough up a hundred bucks to keep track of my meager finances. MoneyDance imported my years old financial file fine (maintaining all data and categories) and it does everything the other guys do, INCLUDING fancy reports. Save your money, use MoneyDance.Check the link for the homepage, info, screenshots and more.MoneyDance
