IBM "Unified" Linux Strategy

IBM has announced a new "unified" strategy for Linux and has declared Linux the operating system of choice for the Internet. Check out this Register story for more details.All along IBM has embraced Linux and proclaimed support. With all of the advantages I see to this alliance IBM has still done, in my opinion, a poor job of supporting Linux on its own hardware platforms. As of last month there was still no "official" literature on Linux for IBM server platforms although the RS\6000 and Netfinity lines purport to offer Linux. Software is another matter. IBM has ported many products to Linux and has done a fantastic job with the software aspect, jusy check out alphaWorks or developerWorks for a preview.
