While they do say "Were not competing against Red Hat or anything," the folks at Transmeta not only have a new chip for the fray, but a new Linux distro. This distro is specifically aimed at smaller and or embedded devices. This is a CE killer, not a server OS killer. However, all of the improvements to Linux that Transmeta and their famous engineer make, will be GPL'd. This is only good news all around. Improvements to the overall Linux line and more robust OS for "portable Internet devices." That and the combination of interoperabilty between everything make this a potential marked Linux milestone.Check the news.com link for more details. Transmeta Distro Story: News.Com
