Charlie: This review covers "Learning the BASH Shell" by Cameron Newham and Bill Rosenblatt, OReilly 1998.I picked up this book to solidify my lacking BASH scripting skills. In doing so I learned a lot about all of the BASH functionality as well as the scripting details. This is an excellent book (and the OReilly bias is starting to show.) Along with detailed explanations of much of BASHs powerful scripting concepts and functions this book also covers basic usage, process handling, administration, customizing your environemnt and more. This book is another great addition to the OReilly family and it is again well written and a very good resource. GET IT. Rating 4.9 Penguin Afros (out of a possible 5) on our scale. Checkit at Amazon (and BUY it from here to support the Penguin.) Learning the BASH Shell.
