http://www.bellsouth.net">Bellsouth is apparently disallowing Linux customers from obtaining DSL service. Check this News.com Linux DSL story for the scoop. Their official policy is now to not even allow the hardware to be installed or used on a Linux machine. The Linux configuration is "in the works" according to a Bellsouth spokesperson. What a bunch of BellSuxAss crap! Hit their site and USE the feedback button. This is BS. I am a Bellsouth ISP customer, and while their technical service desk personnel are generally very good and their service reliable (usually, not always), getting them to fix or install something is next to impossible. All I want to do is buy something, get molre service and I cant get a straight answer to anything, and now this Linux lame ass line, what the hell! Several other TOTSP users have had major Bellsouth problems even getting DSL, now this. One of our users had an appointment to get DSL from Bellsouth, twice, and they ended up calling while he was waiting at home after leaving work for the appointment and saying, uh, er, you cant get it (even though the order was in and signed and he lives in the service area.) I still use dial up at home, I cant get DSL in my area and I have sent tons of email to Bellsouth asking when it may be available. All I ever get back in response is uh, we dont rightly know, and they never asked about my OS. Talk about pissed, if they showed up and wouldnt install because of Linux, look out.Well Bellsouth, screw you for screwing with your customers and being such incompetent morons. Emphatic, yeah, hell yeah, this is not that complicated. I will be shopping for a new ISP, a new local phone company and a cable modem. This is ridiculous and the Linux part is the straw that buried the Bellsouth camel.
