Screaming Penguin - Source Does Matter

OK, this is another ToTSP rant. However, with all of the competition to be a bigger idiot than the last guy nowadays, I may have to make this a regular feature. Maybe a monthly "biggest idiot" award. Anyway, this month it goes to Republican congressman, 7th district, Georgia, Bob Barr.Here's my current problem with Bob Barr logic. He stated today on C-Span (as I watched) that the Wiccan religion should be banned from military bases and that Wiccans should not be allowed in the armed forces. What an arrogant, misguided, ridculous, incredible MORON!He stated (and I quote loosely) "The Wiccans are a pacifist religion and as such Wiccans should be precluded from Military service. Their religous beliefs do not permit killing. A soldier and a military must be able to kill. Therefore if a soldier cannot kill he is a threat to out national security and any religion that disallows killing should be banned." Way to go Bob, have you read the Bill of Rights, or the Constitution, Mr. Congressman?I dont even pretend to know what a Wiccan is. I have heard it is a type of witchcraft, but that doesnt matter at all! Whatever religion anyone in America wants to practice is protected by the Bill of Rights. If someone wants to worship dog crap, so be it! As long as they are not injuring or infringing upon the rights of others and are willing participants, they have the right to worship as they please, whoever they are! And to justify this discrimination with the killing thing, what in the hell is that. Possibly the lamest weak argument I have ever heard. If that is the case kick out the Christians too! I believe last time I read the bible there was a "thou shalt not kill" commandment! This is not Mr. Barrs's first or only major SNAFU. He is a real congressional winner. He cant seem to grasp basic concepts of human rights , on any issue. Maybe this fool should just stick with "dont ask dont tell" and learn to think before he voices his pusillanimous miniscule minded opinions in the future.Whew, rant over, for now!
