A British company is reportedly offering free PCs to subscribers who agree to their one-year telephone contracts. More and more free PCs, with strings attached, are becoming available, bith abroad and here in the states. If you ask me, the price is still too high, dont sign that contract!I also heard that today that America Online is offering free PC equipment to U.K subscribers whom agree to a years Internet Service. Again, that costs way too much, AOL for a year, come on! AOL has made this move and plans on doing the same promotion all over Europe, because they are no longer the top ISP in England. Shocker eh bloke? Maybe they should also name it Brittania Online or something, cant see the brits (or the other Europeans) buying "America" Online. Here in the states, major franchisee based ISP, FlashNet announced free PCs to two-year subscribers. Come on, do you really think you should sign a two year contract for a dial-up analog $19.95 a month ISP? Two months is a little sketchy, much less two years. FlashNet is also offering "refurbished Pentuim" computers with "32MB Ram" and "Windows" software . Sounds like the ol' P133 from the closet. What a deal. The moral, compare the costs of contracts to PC prices, buy your own hardware, its better and its cheaper!
