Book Review: MySQL and MSQL - OReilly 1999

MySQL and MSQLCharlie:This review covers "MySQL and MSQL" by Randy Yarger, George Reese and Tim King, Oreilly , 1999.This is an excellent book, another great title from Oreilly. The book covers all facets of MySQL and MSQL. It starts with defining databases and going over design, including normalization. It then covers installation and utilities for both db engines and the nuances specific to each. From there it goes on into very basic SQL (this is the only thing I thought the book lacked, it wasnt in depth enough in terms of the actual SQL code, basic stuff is covered, nothing tricky though.) Then the latter half of the book is mainly a reference section, but a very good reference section. Information on PHP with C and C++, PHP, Perl, Python, Java, and several popular web interfaces is included, each of these with its own chapter. Overall, a great book and a nice reference.
