Intel PIII Xeon Bug

Intel has discovered a bug in several models of the popular Pentium III Xeon. If you run any serious Intel based servers then you may have one of the problematic chips. Several chips are affected, the main lot are the chips with 512K L2 cache, also affected are some 1MB secondary cache chips. All affected configurations are within 8 way systems using an Intel "Sabre" motherboard. That leaves out most residential users and small companies, but is potentially a major problem for large scale customers. The problem involves a complete server crash when the system is at peak demand, They even quote insiders as calling it the "blue screen of death." I guess that sheds some light on what OS is affected also. Intel is planning a fix for the issue right now.Check this ZDNet story for details.
