Novell and Linux

Novell reecntly announced that they will be "backing Linux to the hilt." They have announced support for Linux across the range of Novell products and have announced support for the NDS eDirectory on most major Linux distros.

This is great news. What this means is that the competition for the new directory just got hotter. The new Microsoft Active Directory on one side and NDS on the other. With the addition of open NDS and NDS for Linux, Novell has greatly increased the market possibilites for NDS.

Of course on a Linux box you could roll your own "Active Directory" with the open LDAP code, but why bother. Put the expertise, research and experience of Novell to work.

This move will certainly add credibility and posibilities to both Novell and Linux.   Novell and Linux: IT-analysis.com
