Linux flavored Palm Pilot: WebReview

There are many people who rely on their Palm Pilot for a variety of important tasks. While I am not aware of a Linux based OS for the Palm Pilot (yet, if I am simply just uninformed someone please let me know) there are many tools to allow it communicate with your primary computer, your Linux box. After all, the pilot is a sort of "satellite" device, not the main platform. Does this mean they also have to rely on a Windows desktop to transfer info between the machines?

Nope

There are a plethora of Linux and Unix tools for the Palm Pilot. There is a program called POSE (Palm OS Sys Emulator) to emulate a Palm environment in a Linux Window and there are interface programs like J-Pilot and Pilot-Link that allow total communication and customization of your Pilot with your Linux box. Yes, you can even install Perl, Python and or TcL bindings.

This is all cool, check the WebReview story for more details.   WebReview Linux Palm Pilot Article
