Missouri Files Privacy Lawsuit against Web Company

Yet another web company has promised not to share personal information and then done so. The state of Missouri isnt happy about it and has decided to sue More.com. The site does state that information is NOT shared and yet, they sell it, you bet.

Personally, I dont fear companies sharing information, other non online companies have done it for decades and the new medium of the Internet doesnt really change the picture. However, I have a real problem with lies and deception, if you say you wont do it, then dont, otherwise cop to it.

I applaud Missouri for the effort. Also, make sure that if you ARE concerned you pay attention to sites that proclaim they maintain privacy but they reserve the right to change their minds at any time. Recently some big guns like Amazon, changed their policies and even if you signed up when the policy was not to share info, to bad, the policy is now to share, and its retroactive. That I find pretty lame too, but it is within their bounds.
