Screaming Penguin - Source Does Matter

I dont normally look for RPM's persay. I prefer to complie things cleanly with only whatever options I need and I know about. In my search for files now and then I constantly wind up at RPMfind.net. RPMfind.net is a great site, great resource and constantly helpful site (whether your destination is RPMs or not.)

This is not my original destination, but since the site details all the specific files that are included, it pops up. Dont get me wrong, RPMs are great, but I prefer RPMs that are custom built or have completely known contents Its often the contents that I dont like, lots of extraneous stuff, not the technology. The actual technology of RPMs is awesome (there are points to debate here, but I simply mean a format by which an entire program that actually DOES SOMETHING can be installed with all requirements being met.) Be aware when you use RPMs of exactly what you are getting and be aware that resources such as RPMfind are available.   RPMfind.net
