I am somewhat familiar with SourceForge. I have mildly participated in a few projects and consistently use the site to check the status of certain projects. If you are unfamiliar with SourceForge, you should get familiar, its a fantastic thing. The concept is a repository and set of tools for open source projects. SourceForge has a web interface to CVS, Forums, Code Storage, Web Hosting, Bug Tracking, Documentation. etc. Basically it is a very thorough suite of project management tools for open source software projects.

One thing I did not know about SourceForge was that the code that itself runs SourceForge is also an open source project and is available for download. Wow. This is good stuff. The suite of code is not for the timid to try to install, the code is not well documented (all the docs refer to an old rev, and are sparse at that) and the process of installation is intricate. However, it is open source (PHP code mainly) and there are some guidelines.

Be aware that this is available and if you are willing to tackle it, very very helpful. A web interface to all of the tools to project management and development, free and open source, worth the configuration struggle. Checkit and be advised, SourceForge GOOD! SourceForge Code Available for Download
