Wow. That about says it, you gotta check out the NPR top 100 American artists of the century.
I am a regular NPR listener and many of the stories about the artists and the inspiration were
incredible and the music itself is, well, the best of the century.

Artists run the gambit from Nirvana, The Doors, Buddy Holly,
Patsy Cline, James Taylor and Paul SImon to Oklahoma, Johnny Cash, Django Reinhardt, and the Warner Brothers Cartoons.
