PHPBuilder has a nice little tutorial about building an address book with PHP and LDAP. This article is much more about PHP than LDAP, but it does at least address the latter.
Yes, we all realize that you dont NEED an LDAP address book accessible via a private PHP script. However, there are a plethora of uses for this type of technology and learning a bit about LDAP merely opens the doors.
