Java STILL great for a tech career

SolarisCentral has a link to a new Gartner study that says java is as hot as ever (Gartner opinions aside.) This is great news for those of us whom are java players (or are trying to be, I plan on taking the Sun Java Programmer Cert test in the next few weeks.) Even in this economy the study reports that Java and Microsoft will dominate the e-commerce industries (not exactly a revelation, but still kinda warm and fuzzy.)

Along with that another story reports that companies have been slow to adopt EJBs (enterprise java beans.) EJBs are part of the Enterprise Java 2 specs and are basically for distributed and scalable java architecture. EJBs are way cool, but are complicated and easy to screw up, this may be contributing to the slow adoption (in my experience many companies are going to EJB, but maybe thats just in my neck of the woods.)
