Book Review: A Brief History of Time (revised 10th anniv): Stephen Hawking

Ok, so this is the ultra quick review, but this book should need no introduction. I think I was one of the few people on Earth who had NOT read it before, so I grabbed the 10th Anniversary revised edition and read it. GOOD STUFF!

I am also certainly the upteeenth person to review this title, but I will go ahead, its probably been a while. This book is about the progression of scientific knowledge in astronomy and physics and the advancements to that knowledge made specifically by its author, Stephen Hawking. This book is alarmingly well written with down to Earth (sorry) an analogies, explanations and terms that make reading and comprehension a breeze. I am just beginning to pursue my interest in these subjects and while there were no revelations in this book it greatly solidified several concepts (the uncertainty principle, the particles of matter (including muons, glouns, neutrinos, etc, stuff that was not in the first edition), particle spin, black holes, wormholes, and much more.)

Overall, 6.7 penguin afros out of a possible 5.2 on our scale. This is a great book, its not revolutionary, anymore, but its still a classic and a must read for the amateur astronomer.   A Brief History of Time: Amazon
