Rambus sued a company named Infineon for royalties on SDRAM (claiming it was their technology, in part.) Infineon said wait a minute, this is an open standard we are using that everyone has to declare at the Joint Electronic Devices Engineering Council (JEDEC.)

The court said phooey to the Rambus suit and found in favor of Infineon on the counterclaim. Uh, whoops.

Its not a large monetary amount, but this case may have implications in other electronics litigation.
