Screaming Penguin - Source Does Matter

There is not much further to say, the profoundly disturbing events of yesterday, September 11, 2001, have us all in total shock. The United States is grieving for the loss of life and sanctity.

The coverage by news outlets has been pervasive and informative. Terrorists hijacked 4 commercial airliners and crashed all of them. The World Trade Center twin towers both collapsed as a result of collisions by the hijacked airliners in separate but related incidents (which then caused extensive further damage in the heart of New York City.) The Pentagon in Washington DC was also struck by another commerical airliner causing part of it to collapse. And the final airliner was crashed into the ground in Pennsylvania.

Any commentary is gripping understatement. This terrible event will truly live in "infamy " just as December 7 1941 does, yet the horror is compounded by the fact that this was not a military target.
