LaBrea "tarpit" for worms and virii: slashdot

Labrea is a very novel and seemingly effective concept. According to the slashdot blurb (thanks to /. and I have not yet used LaBrea) it uses unused IP addresses on a given network and responds to rogue requests such as those from worms. The response works in such a way that the offending machine connection is left open and therefore the offender is "stuck" in the "tarpit." I dont know the details (whitepaper available on linked site) but what a really ingenious idea. Very potentially cool stuff. Checkit via the link.   http://www.threenorth.com/LaBrea/
