IBM gives developers free access to iSeries servers running Linux: ZDNet

In an effort to increase development and applications for the Linux platform IBM is providing developers with free access to servers. Specifically IBM iSeries servers (formerly AS/400s) running SuSE and TurboLinux (RedHat soon.)

The iSeries machines are pretty darn cool. They can run up to 31 separate instances of an OS in a virtual server configuration. They can run all sorts of OSes also, such as Linux, AIX, Windows2K and of course OS/400. Potentially you could set up a few of these and run all your enterprise apps, in different instances, regardless of OS.

For more info on the developer program check here (thanks cooper :P.) Its a great concept and thanks go to IBM for all the Linux effort.   IBM gives developers free access to iSeries servers running Linux: ZDNet
