The "Meta Group" totally misses the point on Linux PDAs

There is a "commentary" article on ZDNet that comes from the "Meta Group" and claims that Linux PDAs are not an advantage. The entire article focuses and elaborates on the COST of the operating system and how Linux PDAs will NOT be less expensive.

Duh.

I think this is another case for Professor Wilhelm NahSchit at the OutMyAss Institute in Obvious, Wisconsin to examine. Imagine that, Linux PDAs wont be less expensive. Hardware is most of the cost (which is stated as a revelational point in the article, along with the fact that CD and Palm only cost around 10 bucks.) Really, wow, thats a news flash.

People want Linux PDAs so they dont suck, not because they are cheaper. People want Linux PDAs so they can extend them and program them. People want Linux PDAs to run Java on. People want Linux PDAs for the FREEDOM, POWER, STABILITY and FLEXIBILITY of Linux, not because they want to save money.

Hell, I will give Sharp the price of a Zaurus and 20 bucks just for making a Linux PDA, I will pay NOT to have CE or Palm.
