Screaming Penguin - Source Does Matter

I stumbled across this today, The Phone Company's Remote Printing Service, its a collaboration of companies and users around the world who offer a free fax service! You can SEND a fax directly from your email or from a web form. This is a great community use of technology.

This is different from proprietary commercial fax online stuff like eFax, this is free, community driven, no ads, no crap, etc (and it does not receive faxs.)

This service cannot send a fax anywhere, only to areas where someone is participating and hosting the service. There is a form to check and see if the number you wish to fax to is serviceable before you use the service. Amazing stuff (and my area is all in service!)

So if you have to deal with companies that want stuff faxed, which still happens for some unknown reason, then check out this service.
