Fuell Cells for all in Iceland

Tagged:
In a remarkable move that arguably demonstrates foresight and initiative while at the same time being not without risk the entire county of Iceland has dedicated itself to becoming a "Hydrogen Society." You read that right. The Icelandic government AND people are planning on converting all energy needs to fuel cells. The plan is to have buses and cars that run on fuel cells in 15 years. Then next to replace the fishing fleet. The plan aims to make Iceland "hydrocarbon free" by 2040. Wow, now THAT is a responsible and SMART energy policy. Iceland has a history of clean power. Being one of the first and most major adopters of geothermal and hydroelectric power Iceland has prided itself for the past 25 years on a strong commitment to clean power. And, Iceland has met that commitment. IT CAN BE DONE. The rest of the world needs to thank Iceland for this effort and foresight and then needs to try to catch up.   Will Fuel Cells Make Iceland the Kuwait of the North: worldpress.org

It's refreshing to see countries taking a bold iniative regarding energy policy. I long to live in a world not dependent on Mid-East oil - and for a day when I don't have to continually clean black soot off all my outdoor furniture.
