Microsoft Issues Patch for 'Massive IIS Hole': news.com

Yes, all computer software products have vulnerabilities and none are totally secure. However, the frequency and severity of Microsoft security problems, especially with Microsoft IIS make it a standout as an incredibly poor security performer.

IIS is an exercise in exactly how NOT to write and release a product that is meant to be used on public networks.

The latest patch from Microsoft is to stop an exploit that could allow "hackers to take full control of a site operator's computer." Yeah, you read that right, not just crash it, not just deface the webroot, take full control of it.

Fortunately for Microsoft computer and server operators if a "hacker" does take control of their computer the operating system will stop that hacker within 24 hours because invariably the Microsoft OS will crash daily thereby kicking off the hacker. We all think of it as a reliability issue, in reality its a genius security move eh?

Kidding aside, I dont understand why ANYONE uses Microsoft software on a public network. Its a BAD IDEA, it has been proven AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN and . . .

Demand better, get a patch here.   Microsoft Issues Patch for massive IIS hole: news.com

You jackass. Since I don't get to sit back and bitch about how crappy IIS is, (rather I have to make it work 'cause that is what my employers and the people they sell stuff to want,) I followed your damned link to get the patch. ha-friggin-ha.Ya know, normally, I am cynical enough about your rants to know that nothing in it could be even remotely useful, but I was lulled into complacency by your apparent admission that there are other apps out there not as highly envagelized against that have holes as well.Oh well, I live and learn.jackass.
