SGI Tax Refund puts the company in the black: news.com

SGI has gotten a few large contracts recently so earnings have been better than expected. Revenue was 340 million for the last quarter. In addition the news today is that a big ole tax refund, 30 million, will put the company in the black. The tax refund is for taxes paid "back in the 90s" and is attributed to the new tax laws enacted by GW (I am not sure of the exact details.) With the tax refund, SGI MADE MONEY, 10.3 million in the last quarter (compared with 174 mill loss same time last year.)

This is great news for SGI and for higher end and speciality computer makers in general. Regardless ogf the tax refund SGI has made tremendous progress in a very short time. SGI may be back on track.

Lets hope that news like this is a sign of the overall economic recovery. SGI makes some pretty specific and high end stuff, companies have to adapt to the times, but it can be done, it can work.
