At the Computerworld Expo in Auckland New Zealand last week a big showdown was set to take place. An AGREED UPON formal comparison of Windows and Linux was to happen. The OSes and software such as MS Office and OpenOffice were to be compared and tested. Microsoft accepted the invitation and was present and prepared to present. Apple was also considering entering.
Well, as you can probably guess, didnt happen. Microsoft backed out at the last second calling it "inappropriate." Apple never showed either. Linux won the event and didnt break a sweat.
Microsoft was right calling it inappropriate. It would have been inappropriate to have their commercial products asses kicked by a team of rag tag open source products that are as functional, more reliable, faster, better supported, better able to adapt in the future and FREE. That certainly would have been inappropriate and the girly pansy ass Microsoft team ran away like Monty Python and the crew fleeing the rabbit. (And thats basically what has happened to Microsoft, its a great analogy, aww, its just a rabbit!)
