Prez Bush Signs Farm Aid Bill and Touts Welfare Reform

I posted an earlier story about the US government changing course and getting back into farm subsidies. Yesterday it became official as Prez Bush signed the bill, latest reports (I have not read the bill) put it at 190 BILLION total. Yeah, thats a B.

Later in the day the prez (same one) made a campaign stop and touted his "welfare reform" package in a speech. The president stated that it is time to get people back to work and not pay them not to work. Uh, ok.

Does anyone else see this irony? Paying farmers not to grow stuff, criticizing and campaigning on cleaning up welfare? Dont get me wrong, I am ALL FOR welfare reform, but come on, the only difference between welfare and farm subsidies is that COMPANIES can get farm subsidies, even better.
