Seems football (er soccer) is far more popular around the world than the Olympics. Or at least more football fans have their computers on and are checking the FIFA World Cup Site. In terms of page views the World Cup site had almost matched the Olympics site in the first four days (that may also have something to do with the fact that the Olympics site sucked, had terrible Javascript navigation, etc).
