BRASIL 2 : ALEMANIA 0

Great matches to finish out the Korea/Japan 2002 World Cup on Sat and Sun.

On Sat Turkey barely escaped South Korea 3 to 2. Turkey scored in a record 11 seconds on some very sloppy Korean defending and then kept up the assualt in the first half to leave 3 to 1. In the second hald it was pretty much all Korea. Several shots were saved, several hit posts, several just missed their mark. Turkey did have a few runs late in the second half, but for the most part Korea dictated. Korea had one goal disallowed on a questionable offsides call (so much for the Korean favor eh Kahn?) This game easily could have been 6 : 4 Korea, but it wasnt, props to the turks, the earned third place.

On Sunday the grand finale match between two of the ultimate soccer nations on history took place. Brazil and Germany had never met before in the cup, yet had 7 cup titles between them. It was a great match. Both team played great defense and both had some very pretty offensive attacks. It was not the "jogo botino" that Brazil speaks of, but it was still a great game. Ronaldo vindicated himself and tied Pele with 12 world cup goals total. Ronaldo scored 2 against Germany, one that was a rebound that Kahn couldnt hang on to, and Brazil won it 2 to 0.
