Screaming Penguin - Source Does Matter

Sun warned yesterday that earnings are off. They wont meet projections AND dont expect things to get any better. They apparently also have plans to curtail discounts in order to protect profits. Not good news.

While I dont think buying a Sun server makes any sense anyway (again, I reiterate my position, Sun is the BEST hardware ever, but it is TOO expensive to justify, three AMD/Intel x86 machines are cheaper) I do recognize that Sun is a litmus of the entire server market. Serious enterprise applications where money doesnt really matter use Sun. If less Sun machines are being sold then less IT work in general is being done.
