WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- The "Solar Decathlon," a Department of Energy-sponsored competition in Washington, is helping to prove that buildings running on solar-generated heat and electricity can be attractive and affordable, officials and contestants said Tuesday.

Very cool stuff, check the link for more info. And note how incrediblty cool the Siemens Earthsafe Solar systems are. I have been eyeing these babies for a few years, soon as I have the cash I am in. Not that bad either, start in the 5-8K range. Also, they have an inverter and put power BACK IN THE GRID when you arent using it, and yep, if your area has the correct metering laws that means the meter runs backwards!
