How to recycle your hardware: PCWorld

Great article on PCWorld that not enough people think about, what to do with the old tech gadgets when you get the new ones.

Old computer chassis', monitors, and parts such as hard drives, etc are becoming a big problem at landfills and guess what Einstein, they arent biodegradable.

The linked article has several ideas of how to responsibly deal with old tech junk. Give it to charities who can use it or write it off (and tell them where to recycle if they are going to toss it), send it back to the big manufacturers whom have recycling programs (Dell, Gateway, Hewlett-Packard, and IBM all have some type of program for trade ins or rebates, etc) or send it in to a recycling center yourself. Sending it in yourself costs money (about 30 bucks for 70 pounds, shipping included), so its not going to happen in most cases, but the reality is that its the responsible thing to do.
