Amazing the stuff that the US congress can come up, very bright bunch up there (in the last 3 or 4 sessions especially).
There is an article on Wired about a new proposal by Texas Rep John Carter to jail file swappers for 3 years.
Carters logic is that A.)they can prosecute this crap and B.)it will be a deterrent.
Uh, Ok, good thinking congressman. That and I bet there is porn on the Internet huh, lets ban that because that will work. Or even lets make an Internet sales tax, that will also work, all great ideas. Also all very worthy of the time of Congresspeople right now in light of all the other world events. If we can just get a handle on this Internet thing and maybe fix prayer in school and then dont let those bastards burn the flag, then we will have really accomplished something.
