Personally I am not very happy with RedHat lately. Its got a little to do with their software and a LOT to do with their attitude. Its a long story but the new subscription thing and canceling update accounts that dont respond to their "survey" has caused me some anguish (and I DONT WANT an account, DONT WANT to respond to the survey, they keep bombarding me with crap anyway, long story). I am also not too fond of the new general public (ie free) releases that apparently will not have point levels (ie 9, and not 8.1, etc) and will NOT be as thoroughly tested or stable as admitted by RedHat. I know they need to make some money and they are a business, but I have used RedHat primarily for years and with this attitude of stuff less stable (unless I buy the commercial versions of course) I am quite frankly looking back at SuSE again (very good stuff that I have also used in the past, but not as much as RedHat).
Anyway, despite the consternation, RedHat 9 is out. GuruLabs has a good article detailing what its about and whats new, checkit via the link. Red Hat Linux 9 Technical Changes: GuruLabs
