SpamAsassin high score competition
With a free case of actual Spam (tm) luncheon meat like substance! Whomever can come up with the highest SpamAssassin score each month, wins.
If you are unfamiliar SpamAssassin is a *great* spam filtering program that uses the CONTENT of the message, black lists and Bayesian filtering all in combination to pretty much stop spam cold. I use it with Sendmail and it can be configured with many mail servers for site wide use or it can be indvidually used with various mail clients. I think its what Mozilla mail now uses and there is even a version for Outlook (if you are so unfortunate as to be using that).
Now the competition for the highest score is fun and all, but this would mean I would have to actually LOOK at the spam that gets caught and dumped by spamassassin. During testing I have noticed a few with a score of 20 or even 30, but never approached 60 as some of the current entrants have. SpamAssassin scores messages based on an entire list of tests and the cumulative total determines whethere or not its spam. The threshold can of course be adjusted but a common one is 5, so 60 as you can imagine is some serious spam.
Please, no cheating, dont view each test and then compose a message to yourself, hey, I didnt just give away how these guys got 60 did I?
