We all know that the Playstation 2 is a popular gaming platform, but did you also know its a great supercomputer platform?

Well, 70 of them clustered, running Linux and connected to the same switch are a supercomputer! The National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has assembled such an array of Playstations and they believe "the system may be capable of a half trillion operations a second, well within the definition of supercomputer".
