Screaming Penguin - Source Does Matter

Senate majority leader Bill Frist is one of the top "leaders" in the United States of America. He is also a supporter of a new movement to ADD AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES THAT WILL BAN GAY MARRIAGE. This new move has been initiated by Marilyn Musgrave, R-Colo.

I dont know where to start with this rampant ignorance and zealotry in the United States. Its horrible how abjectly ignorant/stupid people, purportedly educated people, leaders even, are.

If Bill Frist doesnt want a gay marriage, then he shouldnt marry another man, what the hell does the state have to do with it????? And Marilyn Musgrave, what an idiot (she deserves some name calling, as unbecoming as it may be), this is a WOMAN who because of the changes of the last 50 years is allowed to VOTE, allowed to HOLD PUBLIC OFFICE, and she wants to hold another group of people back for something even less definitive than their gender, their sexual orientation?

What do the terminally ignorant/stupid say is their reasoning for wanting to ban gay marriage. Well they have several compelling arguments (sarcasm very intended), 1. "its not natural", 2. "its against the will of god and says so in da bible" and 3. "its a public health hazard of a lifestyle".

None of these reasons is really even worth discussing, because they are obviously specious attempts to rationalize religious zealotry, but what the hell here goes. 1.) not natural - bullshit, happens in almost every recorded species in nature. 2.) will of god - debatable in christianity but who cares, I think christiantity is a load of bullshit, they think its their salvation and I am a heathen, but NONE OF WHAT EITHER OF US THINKS MATTERS IN TERMS OF THE STATE AND THE LAW (see the rest of the constitution). 3.) health hazard - just plain terribly ignorant, people that call homosexuality a health hazard should not be allowed to breed because of the health hazard of their genes in future generations, homosexuality is not any more/less healthy than any other type of sexuality, promiscuity is not healthy of course but that has nothing to do with orientation (and of course means that we SHOULD ENCOURAGE GAY MARRIAGE in reality).

Its unbelievable that legislators, uh in this case all Republicans, would try crap like this. Yet every day the current United States administration and congress seems to find a new way to force religious views upon its citizens, erode personal liberties, generally portray ignorance and totally misunderstand/misinterpret freedom and justice and truth.
