iTunes DRM crack, provided by author of DeCSS

Jon Johansen the Norweigian who brought the world DeCSS a few years back apparently also has provided a new crack for the Windows version of iTunes.

I herald the DeCSS stuff because once I PURCHASE a DVD I am ENTITLED BY LAW to make a "fair use" copy, and without DeCSS I cannot. Therefore allowing legitimate owners of copyrighted DVDs to make copies or play on an alternative device (ie Linux computer) is totally LEGAL despite the MPAA that would espouse otherwise.

Yet I dont understand the new "QTFairUse". When you buy a song on iTunes you are allowed to make copies and such (I think, I am not an iTunes user but I thought that was the premise, as stated here). So I am not sure what Apple DRM this cracks? IF iTunes songs are still restricted after you PURCHASE them, then this is good, if this is some means to circumvent the purchase then its bad. Apple and iTunes experts pipe up and explain the deal please?
