Java 1.5 "whats new"?:
Well, lots of stuff, Including an auto tuning JVM heap size, programming language features such as autoboxing, enhanced for loops, static import, metadata, generics, typesafe enum, varargs, new hardware support such as for opteron x86-64, and a ton of other stuff including major improvements to many supporting api libraries. So basically the new features catch up with C# syntax. Funny how the Java Preachers cry out that C# is just Java and not as good, but the next big release of Java contains all the C# goodies that were decried as 'fluff'.

i was actually talking about this specific thing at the office today. and i was guessing this post would come.
i think these features have been in the works for a long time, but its true they are likely "borrowed" from c#.
just the same c# itself is sorta borrowed from java.
no harm no foul really either was as i see it, but yes from the "purists" there was some static.
