Black hole rips apart star: BBC

In an amazing discovery scientists have confirmed the presence of a black hole AND the theory that matter can indeed make it out and in fact should make it out in the form of radiating particles. I think it was Hawking that first said "Black holes aint so black". The recent discoveries were of X-Ray radiation bursts (observed by several observatories) around a previously theorized black hole. The bursts came in the area of the black hole after a star got to near and then was missing. The star was apparently ripped apart by the black hole and some of its matter escaped in the form of the X-Ray radiation detected. This is exactly as theories have predicted for some time (another rare example of theory first, then observation to match). For more see the linked BBC article.   Huge black hole tears apart star: BBC
